Le Caveau
In Montreuil sur Mer, about 10 minutes driving from the house. Great Flammekeuche!
A simple and not too expensive 'brasserie / café'.
The owner is a passionate wine collector.

Auberge du vieux logis
The Auberge is the best choice to eat with friends and family that understand good food.
One of the first things I look for is: "How are the relations with the suppliers?" Well, the ingredients and vegetables are always fresh, the quality of meat and fish is consistent and very high. The second thing I look for? The skills of the chef! Well 2 things to be said about that: 1) the menu hasn't changed much in the last 17 years and (2) the chef is still the same member of the family as 17 years ago. Routine makes super stars in the kitchen and that is certainly the case here. The third thing I look for is the quality and choice of the wines. No problem there, many restaurants that ask 3-4 times for a meal and carry Michelin stars would be jealous. The fourth thing is the friendliness and skill of the service. No problem there! These are not people that have gone to international hospitality schools but their attitude is 100% friendly and professional. The fifth is the atmosphere, furnishing and decoration. Well, I would do it differently! This is definitely an element of the restaurant that could be improved. The sixth thing is the cost of the meal. Well this is a restaurant (not a brasserie) and has very friendly prices for excellent service and quality. So, when walking out of the restaurant and sinking into the comfort of you luxury car you and all of your guests will feel absolutely blessed. You have just had a rare culinary treat! http://bit.ly/lamadeleine_sous_montreuil |
Beach club; O'Safran
Great for sunny days in summer! The best beach club in Le Touquet. We like the place very much. The salads are good. You can get some great cheese platters. Nice cold bubbles or rosé.
Where can you hang out ON the beach and be spoiled like that? www.o'safran.com |
Le Paris Plage, Le Touquet, Paris Plage
With some luck you can get a table on the heated terrace. This restaurant is a French Traditional. Well known for it's plateaux de Fruits de Mer but also a great choice of high quality salads, meat dishes and so forth

Le Cocqempot, Montreuil sur Mer
We have been ripped off in this place. A "steak au poivre" that was a greasy, fatty uneddible piece of gristtle. The sauce a flowery substance with too much salt. Too disgusting to touch.
After calling the waiter, actually showing him what we had been served by spooning off the horrible sauce, he claimed that nothing was wrong and just walked away. We asked to talk to the manager which didn't happen, not even after 30 minutes. We had to actually get up, walk to the kitchen and ask for the manager. His reaction was basically "F...k you". AKA the middle finger.
So we asked for the bill and offered to pay for the drinks we had -- BUT NOT -- the 4 steaks.
This led to verbal insults and us almost calling the police. In the end we decided to pay for the garbage that we had been served in order not to end up in a gory conflict with these people.
Do not believe Tripadvisor on this place !!!
La Paloma, Montreuil sur Mer
We try it every 5 years, the prices are ridiculous, the quality the worst in France. Last time I was there I was served rotten eggs in an omelet.
